The fast pace of the modern lifestyle cannot be imagined without the use of a car, both for personal and business needs.

Although attention and safety are key things in traffic, sometimes they get out of our control under the influence of many circumstances. Sometimes a moment of carelessness on your part or on the part of another road user is enough to cause damage to your vehicle.

In order to reduce the damage and compensate it financially if it occurs, it is important to contract a motor own damage (Casco) insurance policy that protects your vehicle from uncertain, future dangers.

Motor own damage insurance includes protection against destruction, damage or theft of the vehicle.

The object of motor own damage insurance, in addition to passenger cars, can be all types of land motor vehicles of standard construction (trucks, motorcycles, buses), trailers, special and work vehicles intended by the manufacturer for exploitation on land, rail vehicles and work machines and their component parts.

Some of the risks insured by the motor own damage insurance policy (depending on the terms and conditions of individual insurance companies) are: traffic accident, fall or impact of an object, fall of an aircraft, breakage or damage of the installed glass or mirror, direct contact of the vehicle with animals, fire, lightning strike, earthquake, flood, theft, vandalism, explosion and many others.

You will be insured against the mentioned dangers by obtaining a motor own damage insurance policy, with several options for your participation in the claim.

You can choose an option without your participation in the claim when the insured risk occurs, or one of the options with a deductible: a deductible that can be in a fixed amount (e.g. €100, €200...), with a percentage participation in the claim (e.g. 10%, 20%) or a combination of the previous two options (e.g. 10% and min. €200).

The amount of the insurance premium will be affected by many factors such as: the age of the vehicle, the make and type of the vehicle, the value of the newly acquired vehicle, the choice of service during the repair of the vehicle, deductible, age.

 Legal obligations

  • Motor third party liability insurance

Motor third party liability insurance is a mandatory insurance that is purchased when registering motor vehicles. This insurance covers the liability of the owner, or the user, when by using a motor vehicle he/she causes damage to third parties resulting in death, bodily injury, damage to health, damage to property.

Therefore, the insured cannot benefit under the motor third party liability policy, only the third party that suffered the damage.

In case of negligent behaviour of a motor vehicle user and behaviour that does not comply with traffic rules (driving under the influence of alcohol or other substances, driving a vehicle without a driver's license, driving a vehicle that is technically defective, as well as many other damages that you intentionally cause) , the rights offered by this policy are lost.

  • Green card

The green card is a document that you need to have when you go to certain countries. By owning it, you are protected in case of possible material and non-material damage that may be caused to third parties in those countries.

  • European accident report

Under the Transport Law, drivers of motor vehicles are required to have a Car Accident Report Form.

The report is used in the case of minor traffic accidents with minor material damage when the road users can continue driving their cars without interruption. This report with the data of the participants in the accident and the sketch of the accident can be used instead of the police report.
