Poplavljen prostor, oštećena imovina – dešava se samo drugome?

FLOODED AREA, DAMAGED PROPERTY - DOES IT ONLY HAPPEN TO SOMEONE ELSE?

Although spring has officially started with beautiful and warm days, the rainy season is once again upon us. That is why the issue of potential floods is still very present. Most of us would think that floods happen somewhere far away and to someone else, but flooding is one of the most common natural disasters that can cause significant damage to the property that you own and that you have been building for a long time.

The frequency of floods has increased in recent decades. Just a few years earlier, in the territory of Montenegro, floods were registered as many as three times during the year, and those that we had in our country in the last decade were the largest since the beginning of instrumental observations. The flood is caused by enormous atmospheric precipitation, the sudden melting of the snow cover that is happening these days, as well as some other natural disasters, but also the human factor.

Flood insurance is very important. It is a misconception that a flooded area only happens to others, it can happen to anyone. If you already insure your property against fire, why not also insure it against the risk of flooding.

Often the term flood is not clearly understood and is associated with different things. A flood is actually a natural, unexpected inundation of the terrain from standing water (rivers, lakes, seas, etc.) as a result of the water overflowing from the bed or breaching a defensive embankment or dam, water spilling due to unusually high tides and waves at sea and lakes of unusual strength. A flood is also considered to be the unexpected flooding of the terrain due to the sudden formation of a large amount of water that occurs as a result of a cloudburst or the natural unexpected flooding of the terrain with a water mass that forms on downhill terrains due to heavy atmospheric precipitation and drains into streets and roads.

When we know that floods are actually common and can happen for a number of reasons, the question of adequate insurance is actually a question of responsibility. A responsible employer who takes care of his company's assets should take out an insurance policy with this risk included.

Protect your business premises, equipment, furniture and supplies from flooding and save everything you have created over the years.
